Third graders used Edison robots to create snowplows in STEAM lab. The goal was to clear the "snow and ice" from the parking lot in the fewest passes possible. They definitely used their engineering skills to design working Lego plows!

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Social Intelligence. Social intelligence means you are aware of other people’s thoughts and feelings. You understand why they do things. “The single most important lesson I learned in 25 years of talking every single day to people, was that there’s a common denominator in our human experience. The common denominator I found in every single interview is we want to be validated. We want to be understood.”--OPRAH WINFREY

After watching a video on how the Grand Canyon formed, fourth graders used wooden balls, marbles, and steel balls to represent how light rain, heavy rain, and flood waters change Earth's surface. They recorded how many rolls it took for each type of "water" to erode the sand and create a canyon.
