The kids are already hard at work at "Camp Summer School"! They have been working on counting money in math, reading a story in Language Arts, and building their own tent in STEM class. There is room for more "campers". If you are interested in having your 3rd/4th (this year) child attend "Camp Summer School", please call the office at 989-875-3047 or you may bring them in the morning. The Library doors will be open at 8:45 a.m. We are looking forward to a great summer school "camping" experience!

North Elementary will conduct (2) two week summer school programs. 3rd & 4th grades will be the week of June 27th and July 5th through July 11th. 5th & 6th grade will be the week of July 18th and the week of July 29th. The school day will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
The focus of the two week program will be on the core fundamental skills that our students need to be successful. Classes will be taught by North Elementary Certified teachers and paraprofessionals at North Elementary. Classes will include, but will not be limited to Reading, Writing and Math. Other activities will be planned as well.
The number of participants will be limited due to the number of available staff and the need to concentrate on core fundamental skills. The invitation is for students who were in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades this school year.
Since there are a limited number of students that we can accommodate, we will need to have information back quickly to guarantee your student’s spot. We will build a waiting list in the event that an enrolled student is not able to attend.
Please contact the North Office to register or if you have any further questions concerning summer school at (989) 875-3047 or email Mr. Palmer at bpalmer@ithacaschools.net.

The North Elementary Student council sold mostly pre packaged baked goods/snacks during the lunch hour at school to raise money for new PE equipment. Mr. Rayburn is looking forward to purchasing new equipment for the North Elementary PE classes. The student council raised a little over $400. Way to go Student Council!!

Congratulations and Good Luck to the 6th graders, Class of 2028! We will miss you at North! 🐝💙💛

A group of sixth grade girls wanted to do something to show school unity. They decided on a paper chain. They started this project in November and just finished it last week. This chain was long enough that it went from one end of the school to the other from the 3rd grade to the 6th grade. We love to see students show school pride!! Here is a picture of the "Unity Chain" on the wall for 6th Grade Graduation.

Today was Dance Party for 3rd and 4th grade. Everyone got their boogie on. 🕺💃 😎

The 6th grade class had a guest speaker in science today. The speaker was Ms. Parkinson from Cranbook Institute of Science. She led them through designing and building solutions for invasive species in the Great Lakes. It wrapped up our Ecosystem Science unit perfectly!

The kids all had a great time this morning at Field Day 2022. The halls still aren't quite dry after all the wet kids from this morning. :) Thank you to all the parents who saved the day by bringing dry clothes to their kids! LOL

Here is some information on our summer meals program.

North Elementary students and staff wish the Class of 2022" Good Luck" in their futures!

The time has come for us to say goodbye to our 6th graders. We wish you the best of luck in the coming years. North: Not only a direction but a destination.

Here are our Top 25 AR Readers at North Elementary for April-May!
These students earned a gift bag with a gift certificate to Ballyhoo Books, a FREE ice cream cone from Big Top Ice Cream Shop and other goodies. We want to thank Cathy and Jerry Timmons for the generous donation that helped purchase the gift cards and also other prizes for our AR store.
All students enjoyed “shopping with their AR points.”

Thanks to Tom & Erica Wright and the Mid-Michigan Model T club! The 5th graders spent an hour riding in three different Model T’s. One of the vehicles had been purchased in Ithaca from the old Ford dealer back in 1914! Tom & Erica, along with the of the club, did a great job explaining how the Model T works. They also answered all sorts of other questions from the students.

Congratulations to Lisa Dailey on being selected as one of the ten winners for Meemic’s Teacher Appreciation $1000 catered lunch giveaway!

The Sixth grade classes enjoyed a movie and popcorn at the Crystal Box Office Theatre on Monday, May 2, 2022. They had a wonderful time and LOVED the movie "The Bad Guys". North Elementary is looking forward to seeing even more movies at the theatre!!
Thank you!
