Congratulations to Mason Toth for completing the Scholastic Summer Reading!! Way to go working on your individual learning experience throughout the summer!!

We are happy to announce our September Student of the Months! These students have been caught demonstrating positive character strengths during the month of September.

Hello North Families,
Attached you will find The Buzz for 9/29/23. Have a great weekend!

In Science our sixth graders are conducting an empowering lesson to see how the water cycle transfers energy from one source to another thru celery. The sixth graders are becoming problem solvers with this lesson along with collaboration within their group.

Mrs. Loving and Miss. Lalk did a great lesson on bullying for 4th graders! Students learned the different kinds of bullying and how to stop it.

We only had one "Cheesehead" roaming the halls today! Hopefully the stare down scared him off! Gooooo Lions!

Our sixth graders are lucky to welcome a few of Mrs. VanDeWeghe's leadership students to our classroom. They are building positive relationships with our students as well as helping out during our math lesson.

We love our update to the North Elementary Gymnasium! Students, staff, and community members have been complimenting our hard work. It's great to see the wall already being used as a backdrop for extra curricular activities! Swarm Together!

This Friday, September 29th all camp funds are due for our 6th graders! Please make sure to have your payments turned in by the end of this week. If you have any questions, please call the office 989-875-3047.

This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset (OPM) of Being Present and Giving Others My Attention. This means when I’m with other people, I’m present and give them my full attention.
This element of the Other People Mindset is so important today due to the increasing number of distractions vying for our time and attention. Phone calls, text messages, emails, social media notifications all have the dangerous capacity to pull us away from the present moment and, what’s most important -- our relationships with other people.

Picture day is TOMORROW Monday, September 25th!!
You may order now at mylifetouch.com using the code from the forms sent home or on picture day by returning the Lifetouch form with payment enclosed.
All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook even if you do not purchase photos.

4th graders learned the importance of The Constitution this week. They worked in groups to share ideas and were able to create their own class constituition.

Sixth graders developed a better understanding of wearable fitness trackers when working with our code cubes. Creating codes to play rock, paper, scissors based on arm movements was a perfect way to build positive relationships in STEAM!

The 5th graders visited the cemetery to learn more about using sources and history of our community for information!

Third graders constructed and measured flower towers after reading The Tiny Seed in STEAM lab.

North Families: Next Wednesday (September 27, 2023) is the last day that you can order a homecoming mum. Bring your order forms with payment to the North office. Go Jackets!!

Sixth graders used soil column and landcover models to investigate how water moves today!

Ozobots created an engaging opportunity for third graders to extend their inherited traits work in STEAM lab.

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Open-Mindedness. Open-mindedness means you like to consider new ideas and try new things. You examine things from all sides and don’t jump to conclusions.
