Our Chief Science Officers enjoyed a day at CMU exploring the design engineering lab, experiencing the steps involved in starting a business, and making connections with Chief Science Officers from surrounding schools. It was great to see all the ways STEAM skills impact our daily lives!

The snails are on the move today!! Kids had a chance to observe the baby snails come out of shell and move through their habitat. Spring has spring!!
Learning came alive as Ms. Bush's class traveled to the Michigan Historical Museum and the Capitol Building last week!





The student council bake sale is off to a great start! The sale will continue during lunches as long as supplies last and each treat is only $1! All proceeds go toward recess equipment for students!

This week the Positivity Project (P2) focuses on: BRAVERY “I learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” -NELSON MANDELA

Sixth graders are working on a statistical project and our first step is collecting surveys. This project is individualized and geared towards empowering their learning with our current Math chapter.


Mrs. Loving shared testing anxiety techniques to help empower our 5th graders ahead of our State testing that starts next week. Ask your students about them!

To celebrate Opening Day in Detroit tomorrow afternoon, we are encouraging everyone to wear their Detroit Tigers gear!

This morning the sixth graders held a box car derby run by Mrs. H-Marr. The students used teamwork skills and were also problem solvers to create the fastest car for competition. What a great morning filled with many positive character strengths and cheering on their classmates!

Today in 3rd Grade we did an activity called The String Theory as part of our Positivity Project. We tossed a ball of yarn and held onto the string and gave each other compliments. It shows how we are intertwined and how compliments connect us all in a positive way. Then we cut the string, symbolizing saying something mean, and saw what happened to our web of compliments fell apart.



Mr. Smith's class completed our first round of soap box derby races this morning. Racers did a great job supporting each other and demonstrating positive sportsmanship traits!
