Sixth grade scientists used celery and food coloring this week to observe how water moves through plants!

Third graders constructed bats as a part of their inherited traits and behaviors work in STEAM.
Sixth graders had a great time exploring electrical engineering with our new Makey Makey kits! Thank you Mandy Symonds and Chasing Fireflies for the generous donation!!
Mrs. Rayburn had a chat with the 5th graders today about safety in school!
All students today had our first principal chat with Mrs. Rayburn per classroom. We talked about how to care for our school and taking care of the building, Spirit days next week in honor of Homecoming, and also what to expect this coming Friday for our Heroes in the Hive.
Sixth grade candy bars have arrived and students who opted to sell will be out and about selling, so please help support them for our annual camp trip in May!

Today the sixth grade students listened to a presentation from our guest speakers from Child Advocacy on the dangers of vaping.
Third grade enjoyed an amazing performance by The Academy of Performing Arts at Alma College today. Their rendition of Alice in Wonderland thoroughly entertained us. Some of us were even dancing in our seats!
4th graders are working on their first art projects of the year! They are excited to use lines show variety, learn how to show depth by overlapping and creating texture to show fur on their animals. Their animals are showing up with attitudes. 😎
Fourth graders created models of “mechanical birds” after reading Papa’s Mechanical Fish in STEAM lab. The goal was to hold seven characters, like Papa’s invention did in the story!
4th graders had a lesson on hand sanitizing. The kids put on hand sanitizer and put their hands under a black light- the glowing spots have been sanitized! They then washed their hands to see how well they needed to wash to have clean hands!
