Today was dress like a Nerd day and we had several students take part in dressing up! Here is a group of sixth graders all dressed up as their favorite nerd.
Battle of the Classes day is tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 12th. Dress in your grade level color: 3rd = PURPLE, 4th = WHITE, 5th = BLACK, and 6th = PINK.
We had many creative outfits today including, H for Happy Gilmore, M for Minnie Mouse as well as others who dressed as a mouse, L for Librarian, K for Kitten, I for Illustrator, B for Banana, B for Bob the Builder, E for Eiffel Tower, and many other great ideas! Such a creative way to show our spirit!
Find your inner nerd as we celebrate Nerd Day as part of our dress up days in honor of Homecoming Week.
4th graders showed school spirit by dressing in their PJ's today! We can't wait for the rest of the week!
Our school woods project is proving to be a perfect example of what collaboration can do! We put up three trail cams, cleared two more trails, and completed a classroom set of stump stools all in two hours Sunday afternoon. Thank you SO much for all of the support for this exciting project!
Here is a group picture of some 6th graders who dressed up for "Sweet Dreams" day. Way to show spirit by dressing up!
Okay, get ready to dress up as something that starts with the same letter as your name. We can't wait to see all the creative ideas tomorrow!
Third graders swarmed together in their PJ's for spirit week! Way to show school spirit.
This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Forgiveness. Forgiveness means you forgive those who have done wrong and you accept that people make mistakes.
“Genuine forgiveness does not deny anger but faces it head on.”--ALICE DUER MILLER
We kick off our homecoming week on Monday with "Sweet Dreams Day." Wear your pajamas and/or comfy clothes.
Third grade collaborators used legos and cubelet robot blocks to demonstrate how plants naturally move/bend toward light. They used the light sensors on the blocks to make their Lego plants actually move when they detected light!
Thank you PTO for giving each classroom funds for supplies this year. Sixth graders tested their boats in the gutters that we purchased for our STEAM lab--they were a huge hit!
5th graders made creative photosynthesis models for science lessons this week.
This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Perspective. Perspective means you appreciate when people see things in different ways. You have the ability to understand the world from multiple points of view.
Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct from intelligence. People with this strength are sought out for advice because they see the big picture and can make sense of the world’s complexity. This strength of perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Most importantly, they are honest and behave in an ethically consistent manner.
As an extension of their science work with animal senses, fourth graders constructed scientific models of basset hounds to demonstrate how long ears, short legs, and long noses contribute to this breed's amazing sense of smell.
5th graders engaged in positive learning during their field trip to Forest Hill Nature Center!
Hello North Families,
Attached you will find The Buzz for 9/29/23. Have a great weekend!
In Science our sixth graders are conducting an empowering lesson to see how the water cycle transfers energy from one source to another thru celery. The sixth graders are becoming problem solvers with this lesson along with collaboration within their group.
