North: Not only a direction but a destination!  May 27, 2022      “Where Pride Still Matters”

The end is near! The school year will soon come to an end! We want to thank you for sharing your children with us and choosing Ithaca Public Schools to educate your son/daughter. We certainly have enjoyed watching them learn and grow each and every day and hope that it continues over the summer! We are looking forward to a better 2022-2023 school year!

Memorial Day
North Elementary would like to remember the fallen heroes that served this great country! Because of all of them we have liberties and freedoms some countries do not have! We want to honor them for risking their lives and loving our country to the fullest definition of sacrifice. USA! USA! USA! Land of the free! Home of the brave!

Thank you, PTO!
North Elementary would like to thank our awesome, always-willing-to-help-us, best-in-the-state PTO for their support throughout the year! You have gone above and beyond with providing us with money, classroom items for projects/gifts, popping popcorn and/or finding sponsors to donate the popcorn, covering aides and their recesses and lunches, showing staff appreciation with meals, drinks, and the list goes on and on and on… Thank you, sincerely, from all of us at 201 E. Arcada! We appreciate you more than we can express!!!

Teacher Requests Forms
We will have teacher request forms for the 2022-2023 school year in the office starting today. Forms must be filled out and returned to the Main Office by June 10.

Awards Assembly
There will be an awards assembly on June 2 for 3rd – 5th graders (as 6th grade awards will be included in their graduation ceremony). We will be giving out All As and All As and Bs as well as AR and a few other special awards. The schedule as of right now will be 5th grade will be at 1:40, 4th grade will be at 2:00, and 3rd grade will be at 2:20. All will be in the gym.

Sixth Grade Graduation/Farewell/Congratulations!
Our sixth-grade graduation/farewell will be the last of school, June 3, at 10:00 on our front lawn, north of the bell. Please bring your own comfy chairs or blankets and enjoy the ceremony.  If there is inclement weather, we will move the presentation of certificates to the gym. We want to congratulate the class of 2028 for a job well done and wish them well at the Jr./Sr. High (or wherever they end up)! We know they will do us proud!

Reeds/Leisure Lake
As we prepare for an awesome day at Reeds Park on May 31 (3rd and 4th grades) and Leisure Lake (5th and 6th grades) on June 1, we want to discourage all that are not strong swimmers not to swim that day or bring a life vest (one that fits securely) or encourage a guardian to come watch. We will have lifeguards watching the water at all times, but the more eyes the better. There are plenty of other activities to participate in and we want to make sure that everyone's safe and has a great time. So bring your fishing poles and see what you catch! Bring your baseball/softball equipment to play a game. Bring a book, frisbee, or whatever will be fun for you. We look forward to a fun-filled day at both venues. Thank you!
