Ithaca FFA members attended the Michigan FFA State Convention last week! The Ithaca chapter had a very successful 3 days at convention.
The Agricultural Issues team won 9th place for their agricultural labor discussion. Team members were Tanner Lamey, Ben Munro, Haylie Mayer, Kenny Daniels, and Pazlee Donovan. Nicole Hollabaugh won 4th place for her prepared public speaking on artificial intelligence in agriculture speech, and Brent DeSaegher won 3rd place for his extemporaneous speech focusing on agriscience & technology.
The Ithaca chapter came home with 6 academic excellence awards, 8 outstanding junior degrees, 8 state degrees, 9 state proficiency awards, the state runner-up in the crop management contest, the National Silver Chapter award, Superior Chapter award, and Ithaca had 2 state officer candidates; who were Nicole Hollabaugh and Grady Andrews.
Nicole Hollabaugh was elected Michigan FFA Region 3 State Vice President, and she will serve on the 24-25 state FFA officer team.

Congratulations to Coach Rayburn, Coach White and the boys basketball team as they won their district basketball game Friday. Regional semifinal game will be Tuesday in Houghton Lake. They will play against McBain.

We are offering a free spectator bus to students 7th-12th grade to the Boys Basketball District Finals Friday March 1st. Tickets will also be free to any student that rides the bus (provided by a few donations). Must sign up in the athletic office by tomorrow morning 3/1. Bus leaves at 5:00. women aged 17 to 20 years old who live in or attend school in Gratiot County or are related to a past or present Festival board member, and who will be available to reign from April 2024 to

Students in Mrs. Krieg's English 10B class are making connections between literature and real life and exploring censorship while reading Fahrenheit 451.
Students were asked to create a poster on a social or political issue advocating for or against censorship of that issue.

Nice crowd on hand Saturday as Ithaca High School hosted the 2024 individual regional wrestling tournament. All four Ithaca HS Seniors advanced to this years individual state tournament in 2 weeks at Ford Field. Congratulations!
