Students have been busy the last few weeks in animal science & Ag leadership class. Animal science students learned the anatomy of poultry. Their group was given a particular anatomy system where they had to construct a 3-D model of their system. Ag Leadership class has been learning how to write and construct a speech. They wrote a 4-5 minute speech about an agricultural topic of their choice. Speeches were given on the benefits of hay, GMO’s, tractors, agricultural education, & the benefits of turf grass.

Our 8th graders recently started a new unit in their general agriculture class. The student created posters you see here were part of an assignment in that unit, based on the concept "All about FFA". Classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experience and FFA leadership all play a role in the education kids receive at IHS. Talk to your 8th grader about their agricultural education today!
